Oatmeal
I finally wrote the oatmeal article I've been contemplating for 501 Life. I really enjoyed doing a little research for it in the American Journal of Lifestyle Medicine and taking creative photos of oatmeal with my Valentine's Day flowers. I stuck the homemade granola in a wine glass for theatrical effect :). I'll post one after I find out which one the editor publishes - I think it is against the rules for me to publicly display a photo that I sold to a magazine. It pays very little, but it is still enjoyable.
Sometimes, I wonder how other writers do it - aren't most writers introverts by nature? I like to hear when someone reads my articles, but at the same time I am always slightly uncomfortable around strangers. That is something I would like to change about myself. However, it's difficult to shake off.
After the oatmeal article is published, I intend to write one or more articles on homemade cleaners. The novel is still in the works, but my friend/editor has been sick on and off for months, and you wouldn't believe the importance of her encouragement! I wish it was easy to find someone to do that, but it is downright difficult. I would appreciate prayers for her and her husband's recovery...mine too, since my family has been fighting the same bug. I just finished my third round of antibiotics, and I'm still not 100% yet. Yuck.
I've been enjoying Pinterest lately, and also adding interesting pictures and websites to my blog on Tumblr. This week, I intend to attempt to make beet chips from Pinterest...for some reason, they just sound so tasty... I would let you see my board, but my husband thinks it's a good idea to keep some anonymity. He's probably right.
