Vacation in OK City
This weekend we vacationed in Oklahoma City and visited my folks. It was an inferno outside (106 degrees), but we visited the zoo on their free day anyhow. It's a very nice zoo, but too large to walk the whole way in that heat! Fortunately, they have a tram tour that we took after tiring of walking. We also visited the Museum of Osteology (bones) the day before, and I enjoyed comparing the bones I saw on one day to the living animal the next day. It looks quite small from the outside, but there were a surprising amount of bones on the inside, labeled very nicely with explanations about their morphology on the plaques. The only creepy part was the gift shop - where they apparently sell real human bones for an extraordinary price. Yikes!
Did you come home with any bones? That is pretty creepy. Sherlock Holmes kept a human skull on his mantel, didn't he?
ReplyDeleteNo...the animal bones were affordable, but the human bones were hundreds of dollars each....even if it hadn't creeped me out. Sherlock Holmes was also a drug addict (although he is a fun character!).
